| A few of our clients have those "cottage cheese" ceilings and are not sure what to do to get rid of them. The first step is to find out if they are asbestos or not. I spoke to Dave Price at Synergy in Hayward, and he recommends this: Scrape a tablespoon of the material from the ceiling into a zip-lock baggie and take the baggie down to Analytical Labs of San Francisco at 467 Potrero Ave (near 17th St- top floor) 415-552-4595. They will charge $40, and take 2 days to tell you if it asbestos or not. Dave Price will be able to help you take the "cottage cheese" off if it is asbestos, and he can help you find someone to do it (probably cheaper) if it isn't. Dave Price at Synergy (510)259-1700. |
